Happy Thanksgiving - A Prayer & Photo Card

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Lord,

We humbly ask thy blessing on the turkey and the dressing,

on the yams and the cranberry jelly,

and the pickles from the deli.

Bless the apple pie and tea,

Bless each and every calorie.

Let us enjoy Thanksgiving dinner

tomorrow we can all get thinner.

For all thy help along the way

we're thankful this Thanksgiving  Day.

We're thankful, too, for all our dear ones,

for all the far  away and the near ones.

Although we may be far apart,

we're together in my heart.

Keep us in thy loving care,

this is my Thanksgiving Prayer.

P.S. Anyone who wishes may help with the dishes.

Here's some artwork that I created this week for my sweet SIL...

2008-11-27-001

I came across this idea on another stamper's blog. It is a photo pocket card.

Inside is this adorable picture of my darling nephew, Mason.

2008-11-27-004

On the back is a little thanksgiving message from my SIL.

I created 15 cards for her to send to friends and family this Thanksgiving. I sure hope they enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them. :O)

All products are Close To My Heart.

May you all have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving Day! God Bless, Pamela

All Decked Out with Close To My Heart

I returned last Sunday from the Close To My Heart Regional Celebration in San Antonio and have just now been able to get my head above water. We made so many wonderful projects during the event and I'll be sure to share some of them with you this next week....but I can't show you everything yet, because some of it's from the new 2009 Spring Idea Book. :O) Sorry!

One of my roomies gave me the cutest little bag filled with peanuts and candy corn (YUM!). She did it in Autumn Terracotta CS with a fall theme. Sorry I can't share it with you...I had to unassemble it so I could make one of my own.

Below is my version using the new My Reflections Kit, Aspen along with the November Stamp of the Month, All Decked Out. I got the idea of using the corduroy brads for ear muffs from Lisa Stenz. Isn't he just the cutest thing!?! It was also my first chance to use the new Colonial White pigment ink pad for the snowflakes. I love it!!!

2008-11-15-027

I know...you are probably going to want a template for the box. I'm sure she found it online somewhere, so I'll find out for you and let you know asap.

Well, I have to run to the church for a meeting, so I'll give you more details about this darling little goodie later.

Have a blessed evening! Pamela

Christmas is on its way

So, it's time to start thinking about making your Christmas cards! I started working on some last weekend, thinking I'd use them for an upcoming Christmas cards workshop. However, I decided to go with some a little different for the workshop, so I think one of these will probably be our family Christmas card this year.

2008-11-01-016

I've been thinking about making this card for a while now. I'm so happy I finally got around to creating it! It was a fun card to make because I love to emboss, but I don't do it very often for whatever reason. I used CTMH's Simple Pleasures paper packet  along with some Cocoa CS. The scallop border was made using SU!'s scallop border punch. Can you see the shine of the letters below? I love it!

2008-11-01-018

Now the below card is CASE'd from a swap card I received. I used a different paper packet, CTMH's Perfect Day. The scalloped border is made using my rectangle nestibilities.

2008-11-01-013

I really love all the texture on this card...the scallop border, the paper piercing and that huge star from CTMH's Shining Star stamp set.

2008-11-01-014

And lo and behold, here's my own creation using CTMH's Evensong Creative Basics paper kit along with CTMH's Evergreen stamp set. Love these tress! :O)

2008-11-01-011

Not sure the pictures do justice to this card. I added prisma glitter to the flourishes on the tree to bling it up some.

2008-11-01-015

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful first week of November...don't forget to set your clock back one hour for Day Light Savings Time!

God bless! Pamela
