My Special Day

What a wonderful birthday I had yesterday! I received so many birthday wishes by phone, email, Facebook, mail and in person.

Below is a picture of a few of my birthday presents which included some Bath & Body Works, a lovely beaded cross, some yummy Italian cream cake, a bouquet of flowers, hand painted watering can, and our family pictures from Olan Mills.

'Cherish Your Memories' Scrapbook Club

Did you know that I teach monthly scrapbook classes? I have a class that meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month and another that meets the 2nd Thursday of each month.

I call my classes  'Cherish Your Memories' Scrapbook Clubs because they consist of a group of women that have made a commitment to themselves and their friends to set aside one evening a month to scrapbook their cherished memories.

Each month we gather together on a predetermined evening, I show them how to create 4-6 beautiful layouts using Close To My Heart products and then they purchase the 'Kit of the Month' for the next month's class along with items they have on their wish list. The hostess each month receives a Close To My Heart  shopping spree of $60 or more in FREE scrapbook products!

We have a fantastic time together scrapbooking once a month!

Below are two of the scrapbook layouts we will be completing at our February classes using the new Emporium Level 2 Paper Packet, My Stickease. My Acrylix Connections stamps, Designer Pewter Brads and Colonial White Ricrac.  I will be teaching a new technique using a rubber brayer with ink.

The basic 'Kit of the the Month' is only $25 and you receive all the materials to create six layouts with lots of materials leftover to use to make cards and gifts!

If you would like to join us in February, please contact me no later than Saturday, January 31st. Payment is required at that time. I accept cash, checks, credit/debit cards and PayPal.

I hope you will join us! Thank you!

Picture This!

Another day...another sick child...ugh! On the bright side though, since I was home with a sick child, I was able to get a few little projects done that I'd seen recently.

I have been playing around with the new CTMH Creative Basics Emporium Collection...made a few cards, made a gable box and made this cute little photo wallet.

Following My Heart

Do you ever get so caught up in your day to day life that you lose focus on your dreams? It's so easy to get caught up in the world these days that I have to deliberately set time aside to refocus on my dreams and aspirations, my purpose and priorities. This past weekend was my time to do that.

After sitting down to do a little creating, I made this card using the Creative Basics Emporium Kit. As I was admiring my work, I realized that it was time to take the advice that I stamped on my card...'follow your heart'.

I'm Back & Organizing My Space

What a lovely day it has been so far. This is the first day since coming back from my scrapbook weekend that I've felt well enough to do a little brainstorming, a little catching up, a little organizing all while enjoying hanging out with my 3 kids. What could be better!?!

With my toddler's cooperation, I was able to remove all the retired My Accents from My Accents Organizers and update them with all my new accessories.

Here is the lovely pyramid of retired My Accents that my oldest daughter made...LOL!

I will be taking these and sorting them into mini ziplock bags to giveaway to my scrapbook club members for doing their 'homework' each month (when they bring their club layouts back the next month complete with photos and journaling they get a prize).

Here are my freshly organized My Accents Organizers.

Here is a  close-up with a little help from Bevyn...

2009-01-24-008

I was able to fit my Edge Anchors, Bitty Brads, Brads, Bigger Brads into one and my Mini-Medley Accents, Photo Clips, Photo Hangers and Hinges in the another.

It sure does feel good to get a project completed! What next?

Have a wonderful evening, Pamela

Scrapbooking the Weekend Away

Well, I did do a lot of scrapbooking this weekend, but I also did a lot of papercrafting too since January is National Papercrafting Month.

I arrived at The Covered Bridge Inn Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., unpacked everything and settled in for a glorious weekend of scrapbooking, stamping, friends and lots of food.

My first project was to create the Aspen Workshop on the Go projects from the Close To My Heart Fall/Winter Idea Book. I didn't teach this workshop to my scrapbook club and decided that it would make the perfect pages for my trip to The Covered Bridge Inn two years ago. A cold front blew threw that weekend also, but we had tons of ice and lots of snow (for Texas).

Here are the scrapbook pages I created...pictures AND journaling are included! Yippee!

2009-01-10-002

I made four more pages using the Aspen kit also, but I don't have pictures for you yet.

Next, I created the six scrapbook pages for the Magic Moments Workshop on the Go that I will be teaching this next week. I still need to find some photos to add to those.

In between the fabulous meals that Pat creates for us, I created my Life journal for the Big Picture Scrapbooking class I'm taking, A Life Well Crafted. Then I finished the new My Creations Cube using the Key to my Heart incentive kit that is available through January 31st. I scraplifted the idea from a fellow consultant that posted the idea on our consultant artwork bulletin board. Then today, I created my His Holy Name Challenge notebook I will be using to take notes. I will then create a 6x6 scrapbook page for each attribute of God that is shared during this year long challenge.

Here are my creations...

Ahhhh...I finished this right before I called for my massage...ahhhh.

Now I'm beginning my Project 365...my first complete week of taking at least one photo a day and documenting in Close To My Heart's photo storage pages. More to share on that soon.

Have a fabulous evening and restful Sunday, Pamela

Just a Note

My 'Beat the Winter Blues' Idea Book Celebration & Crop was this past Saturday and for National Papercrafting Month, we created this cute little post-it note clipboard for the make 'n take project.

2009-01-01-009-1

I found these rectangular coasters online a few months back and this was the first chance I've had to use them. I covered the coaster with the new Emporium paper packet. These are fun and easy to make!

Well...it's late and I just wanted to share a quick little project with you. I should have a lot more to share come the weekend as I'll have 3 whole days of scrapbooking at the Covered Bridge Inn! I can't wait!

Warm Winter Wishes to you all! Pamela
