I have been working feverishly the last few days on my Extravaganza projects that I will be mailing to Close To My Heart on March 1st. These items will be reviewed by Close To My Heart and my hope is that they will accept me to teach at our upcoming annual convention in Washington, D.C. in July.
I thought I’d share one of my projects with you for the blog hop. I have to submit a 12” x 12” layout for my submission. For purposes of the blog hop, I used the March Stamp of the Month for my title. However, for my actual submission, I will have to create a different title using products that are in our current inventory, so my layout will actually end up looking a bit different than this one.
The color combination I used is Colonial White, Bamboo, Cocoa, Blush, Tulip & Twilight.
As you can see, I created the title, CELEBRATE, using the March Stamp of the Month. I took the scallop that is included in the set and made a border for my title. I think it compliments my scalloped border on the base of the page well.
I have been seeing a ton of new products on the market using banners, so I looked through some of our stamps and found that by using the D1315 Evergreen stamp set, which would normally be used to create Christmas trees, I could create my own banner going across the page. I also used the kissing technique by using the back side of the paisley stamp and kissing it to a few stamps from the D1412 Noted Backgrounds stamp set.
I’ve had a lot of fun with my embellishments, like this one using a paper flower, basic craft button, blush ribbon, and hemp. I also have been stitching on most of my latest projects. So fun! I even went all out and stitched the photo on this layout to the mat.
Well, I hope you have been inspired to create some fun artwork using the fabulous March Stamp of the Month!
Now "Hop" on over to Alison's Blog to see her work…I’m sure she has something adorable to share with you!
