H2H Challenge–It’s Sketch Time

I was missing in action for last week’s Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog post because my dear husband & I had a special weekend get-a-away planned and I just had too much on my to do list to get it all accomplished. So, as wonderful as our weekend was, I was ready to get back into my craft room and get creative with this week’s sketch challenge!

Here is the sketch that Mary gave us to inspire us…

This sketch can easily be used to create a card or scrapbook layout. I chose to create a Christmas card using the Close To My Heart monthly special called ‘Holiday Wishes’ My Acrylix stamp set.

Many of the images in this stamp set coordinate with the Cricut Art Philosophy Collection so it made it super easy to cut out the ornament shape and then stamp the coordinating image onto the shape. I stamped the ornament image first in Sweet Leaf and then I used my Topiary marker directly on the stamp image to color in a few of the elements and then I stamped it again directly over the previously stamped image to give the two tone effect. To get the Holiday Red bird, I stamped the ornament image onto a scrap of White Daisy cardstock and cut out the bird and glued it over the Sweet Leaf bird to add some pop. Sponge the edges of the ornament in Topiary ink to add some interest.

Cool Tip: Use CTMH Waxy Flax to make your own baker’s twine! Just take to colors and twist them together to make your own customized baker’s twine.
