2012 Project 365 - Week in Review 1/1-1/7

Yep, I’m attempting Project 365 again this year…in a new way, that will hopefully be a bit more manageable. I was inspired by a fellow CTMH Consultant, Erica Michel when she posted she wanted to take pics with her iPhone for the project this year. I thought…wow, what a fabulous idea since I have my phone with me constantly!

So, now that I have a new Android phone that my sweet husband got me for Christmas, I found a really cool app that I’m using called PicPlz. I can take a photo using the app and add a cool filter to my pic and upload it to Facebook & Twitter if I wish. Give it a try…it’s really easy and fun to share my daily pics!

I decided I’d share my pics here as well on a weekly basis…mostly for accountability and future reference. If you decide to use PicPlz, let me know and we can follow each other.

Here are my pics for this past week (1/1-1/7)…

By the way…the dish above was delicious…rump roast and veggies with some cream of mushroom soup & beef broth.

Thanks for stopping by and may you have a wonderful 2nd week of January!

Caught Up with 2011 Project 365

I’m ecstatic about the progress I made tonight with my 2011 Project 365! I created two weeks worth of scrapbook layouts and scrapbooked a total of 14 photos in less than an hour!!!

How in the world did I do it, you ask???

studioj_logoI used the free online scrapbooking design software brought to you by Close To My Heart called Studio J!

Since the beginning of the year, I have found so many wonderful projects and challenges to participate in, but it can be a bit overwhelming trying to find the time to do them all and I have the hardest time prioritizing. =) So, I had an idea last night while I was putting some of my new Studio J layouts in an album that I might try creating my 2011 Project 365 in Studio J this year.

{Brilliance, if I do say so myself.}

A weight has been lifted off of me this evening as I was able to get completely caught up (two weeks worth of photos) and I have a plan now.

Here are the Studio J layouts I created this evening in less than an hour…

For the month of January, I have decided to use the Studio J Exclusive Member Pattern, Birds Eye View with the new Wings Kit. I was able to duplicate the Week 1 layout in my project folder and then change the dates, paper, photos & journaling. I will be choosing a different pattern each month along with a new kit.

Did I mention how relieved I am now, knowing that I can easily stay caught up with this project?

I would love for you to give Studio J a try today. The possibilities are endless!

After brainstorming a bit about how I would use this fabulous stamp set, it occurred to me how wonderful it would work with my Project 365!  I have gotten way behind on my album but had already gotten a few months worth of photos printed and inserted into my CTMH Photo Storage Pages. I just love these things! They can hold 6 – 4”x6” photos on each side for a total of 12 pictures!  They work perfectly for this type of album.

As you can see, I have a title spot for each week in the upper left corner and then the pictures for the week, Sunday – Saturday and then at the bottom are the journaling blocks for each day.

Below is a close-up of the journaling blocks. I used the ‘today’ journaling stamp and did a little masking to make it longer to fit the space. I still need to stamp the date on each block.

Below is the title block in the upper left corner. Isn’t the left border darling!?! Looks just like a sheet torn out of a notebook. I used some of the sayings from the stamp set to stamp around the edges and then stamped the days of the week. So cute!
